1. The Endurance Athlete's Gudie to Success (Published by Hammer Nutrition) - This is a great resource for understanding all aspects of nutrition and hydration for endurance events. From the pre-race meal to in-race nutrition to post-race recovery, this pamphlet contains a lot of really detailed information valuable for endurance athletes. Since it is published by Hammer, however, the solution to all nutrition dilemmas are resolved, according to the pamphlet, by using Hammer products. The principals and theories discussed in the pamphlet can be applied to other brand's products as well, so even if you don't use Hammer Products, this pamphlet is well worth a read. 2. Eat, Drink and Be Healthy (By Walter C. Willett, M.D.) This is a general book on nutrition and diets. It is not specific to endurance athletes, but it is one of the best general nutrition books out there. It outlines the many flaws in the USDA Food Pyramid and proposes a "Healthy Eating Pyramid" to replace the USDA Pyramid. Published by Harvard Universtity Press.
